I'm excited to tell you my story, but the truth is that I’m just a guy lucky enough to pick up a camera and fall in love with what I saw through the lens. Storytelling, creative innovation, and community engagement make my heart go thump thump; and creating a life full of meaningful connections and creative opportunities makes my soul sing. It's been an exciting ride and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities that I've been given along the way.
Antwone Roberts is a storyteller, philanthropic advisor, creative director, and social impact strategist leveraging the power of art, public policy and philanthropy to advance social justice.
Antwone brings his poignant perspective as a photographer and community builder into play to lead civic engagement strategies that bring disenfranchised communities into the decision making process to shape their own futures.Roberts is passionate about leveraging the power of civic engagement and coalition building to shape policy and improve the material conditions of underserved communities.
Antwone’s gifts for community engagement, art, and social justice were evident in his work with Destination Crenshaw, a transformative infrastructure project aiming to create a thriving, vibrant commercial corridor supporting local and small businesses while showcasing Black arts and culture.
Working with institutions like California Community Foundation, Liberty Hill Foundation, the New York City Mayor’s Office, and leaders like leaders leaders like Mayor Michael Tubbs and Councilmember Marqueece Harris Dawson, have enabled Antwone to organize with stakeholders around the country to refine their visions, coordinate with multiple levels of government, and fundraise to bring community led projects and programs to life.
